Ye Olde Delph Bowmen Woodland
A Historic Location
Located within the Hulton Park Estate, a site with a rich history spanning over 700 years, our woodland shoot is set against a backdrop of heritage. Once a key part of an influential dynasty, the estate played a major role in the coal mining industry from the 1500s onwards and was even visited by railway pioneer George Stephenson. Today, it remains a Grade II Registered Park and Garden of Special Historic Interest, making it a truly unique place to enjoy the sport of archery.Set within 25 acres of stunning woodland on the historic Hulton Park Estate, our woodland shoot offers a natural and immersive archery experience. A mix of dense forest, open clearings, and gentle inclines, the course makes full use of the estate's natural streams, with purpose-built bridges allowing access to even more of the landscape.
We use a combination of 3D and paper targets, providing a varied and exciting challenge for members. This venue is accessible to all Ye Olde Delph Bowmen members for regular shooting sessions throughout the week. Access is controlled via secure coded gates, ensuring a safe and private space for archers to enjoy their sport.
We are also thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome NFAS members throughout the year for our Open Shoots, as well as Lancs League, bringing archers together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. During our NFAS Open Shoots, we switch exclusively to 3D targets, carefully placed to blend into the woodland environment and create a truly authentic field archery experience.
If you're interested in experiencing the woodland shoot for yourself, why not join one of our Open Shoots, or get in touch to find out more?
